A joy, in every possibility
Sorry for the lack of updates, it’s been a whirlwind. Max was able to come home Tuesday! His Neurosurgeon is a huge proponent of “kids heal best at home”.
Matt and I had prepared Frankie for Max’s “big boo-boos” ahead of time because they can be a bit jarring if you’re not expecting them. His swelling was pretty intense as well. The surgery was done with him laying on his belly angled down so there was a lot of fluid in his face. We were able to have a lot of the team of incredible people who helped us on this journey sign Max’s book and fill out some phrases and adjectives about him (thank you, Emily!)
We made it home in time to get Max settled and for me to be able to go pick Frankie up. She was SO HAPPY to hear Max was home. I reminded her that he’d have some boo- boos on his head and his face. Once we got home, she was like a homing missile. She found her “Maxie” in the basement and both their faces lit up. They were so happy to be reunited. She was completely unfazed by his swelling and incisions and just kept saying, “Maxie you’ re home! I love you so much!”
I definitely have to agree with Dr. Lam. I don’t think there is a better medicine than this.
